What is the force?
The Force is a mysterious energy field created by life that binds the galaxy together. Harnessing the power of the Force gives the Jedi, the Sith, and others sensitive to this spiritual energy extraordinary abilities, such as levitating objects, tricking minds, and seeing things before they happen.
The Jedi
Jedi Order
The Jedi Order was governed by a High Council of twelve Jedi Masters, including Mace Windu and Grand Master Yoda.
Jedi Training
Certain Force-sensitive individuals who were strong in the Force and of the proper age would leave their respective families and be taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to begin their Jedi training
Jedi Code
The Jedi Code was a set of rules that governed the behavior of the Jedi Order. It taught its followers to not give in to feelings of anger toward other lifeforms, which would help them resist fear and prevent them from falling to the dark side of the Force.
The Sith
Sith Order
The Sith, also referred to as the Sith Order, was an ancient religious order of Force-wielders devoted to the dark side of the Force. Driven by their emotions, including hate, anger, and greed, the Sith were deceptive and obsessed with gaining power no matter the cost.
Sith Lord
Sith Lord was a title conferred upon individuals who followed the Sith tradition. Sith Lords drew upon the dark side of the Force, using it to gain power. The title "Darth" was given to newly christened Sith Lords in place of their old identities.
